Acceptable Use Policy


The following rules apply to the TrilogyIRC network as a whole.
  1. Discussion, promotion, or the solicitation of pornography, warez, and other illegal items are strictly prohibited.
  2. Flooding is defined as the extremely exorbitant usage and abuse of msg, query, ctcp, memo, or ping.
    a. Flooding network Services (NickServ, ChanServ, MemoServ, OperServ, Ferwy, or StatServ) is not allowed.
    b. Also, flooding a user is not allowed. Channel owners are in control of dealing with flooding in their channels.
    c. If flooding the network becomes a persistent problem, the user causing the flooding will be warned. Acceptable punishments are at the discretion of the TrilogyIRC staff but may include removal from the network or an account freeze.
  3. Spambots and any bot/botnets that cause harm to the network will be immediately terminated and banned from the network.
  4. Personal attacks on other users will not be tolerated.
  5. If you have a problem with a user or channel, please contact a staff member via msg or query. If you have a technical (IRC-related) issue or inquiry, please ask in #help.
  6. Under the United States Children's Online Privacy Protection Act, children under thirteen are not allowed on TrilogyIRC. All users under thirteen found will have their nicknames dropped and their IP addresses/hostmasks banned. This policy may seem harsh, but as users collect personal information and TrilogyIRC does not collect COPPA forms, the network has no other option but to deny service to users under the age of thirteen.
  7. These rules are subject to change without prior notice at the discretion of the network staff. Network staff members also reserve the right to clarify any rule to their discretions, within humane reason. Punishments for broken rules are also at the discretion of network staff members. The network staff members also reserve the right to deem a situation inappropriate, even if it is not defined in the AUP. This power of this right will remain checked by the three classes of staff members.
  8. If you believe you have been treated unfairly by an IRC Operator, please use the TrilogyIRC Abuse Form.
  9. By connecting to TrilogyIRC, you agree to adhere to these rules whether or not this message. You also hereby agree to all lawful punishments by TrilogyIRC staff.
